Katie Kepes is a young and experienced equestrian professional who has successfully competed at the National level in the Hunter and Equitation disciplines.
Having begun her career as a hunter/equitation rider at the age of eight, Katie has had the privilege to train under some of the Nation’s finest equestrian trainers. Most notably, these trainers include Sarah Hochschwender (who trained under the hunt seat equitation guru, George Morris), Ronnie Mutch (a much missed and life-long horseman), Keith Powell (of Keilyn Inc in Tampa, Florida), and Brock Clermont (Grand Prix rider and Head Trainer at Clermark Equestrian).
Katie competed on the Hunter/Jumper "A" Circuit until 2005 when she took time off from showing to get her Bachelors of Fine Art from the Ringling College of Art and Design. Before that, Katie won numerous year-end Championships in both the Hunters and Equitation from the Central Florida Hunter Jumper Association and placed nationally for year-end awards from the USEF. She qualified several years in a row to compete at the USEF Pessoa Medal Finals, the ASPCA Maclay finals, as well as the Devon Horse Show. Topping off her career as a junior, she won the HBO Junior Medal Finals in 2005.
Katie offers personalized, professional, and friendly lessons for riders of all levels and ages. A solid foundation in the basics of horsemanship is taught to all students as well as a tailored lesson program to accommodate the specific needs of each horse and rider.
